THE FOUNDER
Volugraph was founded by Jake Wong, a British commercial aircraft pilot with a background in filmmaking. Planning and navigating from the cockpit introduced the potential for rendering the Earth in one dimension higher than two, which can be used for engineering and surveying. Viewing the world from altitude allows us to not only see terrain from a rare perspective but to capture it holistically.
His dive into 3D Gaussian Splatting grew from a decade of experience in visual effects and CGI for film: the same instincts for lighting, geometry and believable imagery carry straight into point cloud representations. From there he pivoted toward GIS and BIM workflows centered on 3D Gaussian splats, pairing aerial perspective and cinematic craft with software that treats the built environment as something you measure and revisit immersively.
