Capture a product with your phone, process it into a Gaussian splat, and share a link buyers can rotate and explore in 3D — right inside their browser, no AR app needed.
What works well
- Shoes, bags, electronics, furniture, ceramics, and any object with visible texture and defined shape process cleanly.
- Highly reflective or transparent surfaces (bare glass, chrome, mirrors) are challenging — diffuse or matte finishes give the best results.
Capture workflow
- Set up. Place the product on a plain, contrasting surface in even light. A lightbox or overcast daylight near a window works well.
- Record. Walk the camera slowly around the product in a full 360-degree orbit. Then do a second pass at a slightly lower angle to pick up the sides. Keep the product large in the frame and overlap each position heavily.
- Upload and process. Create a project in Volugraph, add a capture, and upload the clip. Processing typically finishes within 30 to 45 minutes for short product videos.
- Share. Use the share link directly in a product listing, email, or pitch deck. Viewers can orbit the product freely with no install.
Tips
- Avoid motion blur — move slowly and keep the product in sharp focus throughout.
- Clean the lens before recording; smudges produce hazy captures.
- If the result looks thin or flat, add a third pass from above to improve top coverage.
